Ask an Expert

Have lots of questions about training?  Therapy Dogs?    Come as an expert!  We will have the following experts:

Cati Foss – Arnicadia Dog Training is a positive reinforcement based company owned and operated by Cati Foss. Cati works with you to keep training fun, exciting, and low stress while being informative about the ins and outs of her training approaches. Cati has a strong passion for animals and is a big advocate for a well behaved family dog that will listen the first time you say something as well as love to listen to you. Cati’s background also includes fitness and nutrition, which are both extremely important aspects of a happy and healthy canine companion.

Christina Mulick – Ms. Mulick will talk to us about PAVE – Paws Assisting Veterans.  Paws Assisting Veterans is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to training service dogs for veterans with mental and/or physical disabilities and to advance public knowledge of service dogs and the essential roles they play. PAVE provides service dogs and training free of charge to veterans including equipment and supplies valued at over $1,000. Our teams receive extensive training and follow-up. Highly trained PAVE assistance dogs save lives.

Ranger Sally Freeman – Ms. Freeman is a Ranger at Lewis and Clark National Historical Park.  She will talk to us about Seaman, Meriwether Lewis’ Newfoundland dog.  She will give us the background about Seaman and why he was so important to the Lewis and Clark Expedition.  If we’re lucky, she will bring “Seaman” with her.

Ellen Marshall – Ms. Marshall has two therapy dogs – Flynn and Fig.  Both pups work at Providence Hospital in Seaside helping patients feel better through the comfort of puppy love.  Ellen will discuss how to get involved and what it takes for your dog to become a therapy dog.
